I have interviewed and met many high end Accountants in various firms across Auckland and beyond. I have come across Accountants frustrated in their current positions due to lack of "career path forward", no equity offered in current firm or there has been an external appointment from outside of the firm and this has prevented a Partnership opportunity!

The rule of thumb is simple, if you work under someone else long enough  without a possibility of equity, you will be living someone else's dreams!

My current colleagues who have all been Partners in their own respective firms have all agreed that " Profits are far greater than the salary/wages you earn as an employee. You will never reach your financial goals working for someone else unless you choose to take the risk.

This blog is simply targeting those Accountants ( Firm and Commercial)  that are looking at business ownership, looking to exit a current firm and take the leap of faith into equity ownership, succession planning or an outright buy!

I have mentioned this many times, as a business owner myself I have never been more happier.
